Jessica Carter of Rockingham and Christopher Chappell of Hamlet announce their engagement and upcoming nuptials.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Thomas “Tim” and Jennifer Carter of Rockingham. She is the granddaughter of Bob and Hellon Johnson of Rockingham and Larry and the late Jean Carter and Peggy Carter of Rockingham. She is a 2008 graduate of Richmond Senior High and is currently attending Richmond Community College.

The groom-to-be is the son of Christopher “Mark” Chappell of Fairbanks Alaska and Patricia and Larry Dial of Hamlet. He is the grandson of the late Ronald and Waynelle Reynolds of Washington, Carol Chappell of Rockingham and the late Furman and Ann Chappell of Rockingham. He is a 2008 graduate of Richmond Senior High and is currently attending Haywood Community College and will graduate in May.

The couple is planning a small ceremony at Ocean Isle Beach on Oct. 10, for immediate family, followed by a church ceremony at 3 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2010, for friends and family.
