The Sandhills Regional Medical Center’s annual health fair is coming and offering the public an early chance to get blood work done at lower prices.
The pre-drawing time is from 7:30 - 11 a.m. today. If you are able to make it the pre drawing, the lab work will be ready by Saturday, the day of the fair and there will be physicians available for consultation if needed.
“Our health fair is a wonderful opportunity for people to take advantage of health screenings performed free or at a reduced rate,” said Kimberly Harrington, marketing and public relations director.
“This year is especially unique as Sandhills Regional is commemorating 10 years in its new facility under the theme: The Power of 10 - Celebrating a Decade of Progress. In observance of this milestone, our hospital reduced the already low cost of its blood profile from $25 to $15 - a savings of $10.”
The blood profile includes comprehensive metabolic panel, complete blood profile, cholesterol with HDL, LDL, triglycerides and a thyroid profile. For best results fasting for at least eight hours is required. Avoid eating or drinking after midnight prior to testing. You must be 18 years or older. EKG’s are free. The prostate exam for men would be an extra fee of $10, and hemoglobin testing/blood sugar is an extra $5.
The facility normally has a snack table, but this year there will be hors’doeuvres as well. The health fair still has openings for vendors.
No insurance is accepted. For more information contact the Sandhills Regional Medical Center at (910) 205-8000 or by their Web site at www.sandhillsrmc.com
