Jack Kelly Watson, 72, of Rockingham, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at CMC University Hospital, Charlotte.

He was born May 9, 1937 in Richmond County a son of the late, James Garrett and Hattie Covington Watson. Mr. Watson served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He worked as a salesman with Flowers, Sunbeam Bread Company until his retirement.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Sonny Hall, Rev. David Townsend, and Jerry Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Lib” Watson; one sister, Margaret Mallard; five brothers, James, Harvey, Bill, Roland, and Earl Watson; and a grandson, Phillip Patrick Watson.

Surviving are three daughters, Kim McPherson of Rockingham, Ann Watson of Hoffman, and Jackie Clark of Rockingham; two sons, Scott Watson of Rockingham and Jamie Watson of Hamlet; three sisters, Jean Thomas and Louise Chabot both of Fayetteville, and Sally Russell of Charlotte; two brothers, Howard Watson of Rockingham and Glenn Watson of Ellerbe; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet.
