One race, the human race

Where was the outrage when Bush was in office and many, many protesters were carrying signs suggesting he die, be shot and many other vile things flung at him and his supporters? He was burned, hung, dragged behind cars and set on fire. Did the Dems come out and speak out against these acts of suggestive murder towards the then-president of the United States?

I was never a Bush supporter and surely not a supporter of our current president. As an American I can’t support anyone who is hell bent on destroying my country. Not with Bush, only thinking of the rich people and Obama and his socialistic views on what my country should be.

I for one resent the fact that if I don’t agree with views of this current president that it makes me a racist. The race card is used up and played out. I for one am tired of being told that if I don’t step aside and give other races other than mine a free ride on my back that it makes me a racist.

If my concerns for America and all its people means I am a racist, then so be it. I support one race very strongly, the human race of which most of us are members.

I see Washington, D.C., as one giant toilet that is clogged up and needs to be completely flushed out and cleaned of all the filth and garbage that is stopping it up. The filth is coming from both the Democrats and the Republicans and they all need to go. Vote them all out in November and take back control of our country.

"A Philadelphia man charged with threatening the No. 2 Republican in the House was ordered held without bail Monday pending a mental evaluation after authorities said he tried to post an Internet video that also called the congressman the devil."

Mike, I don't support acts of violence towards Bush anymore than I condone acts of violence against those holding office now. No matter what side it comes from, there is a clear line between opposition and violence. I just looked up the protest with Maxine Waters speaking. She called Bush a liar, she called Cheney a liar, she said, "bring our troops home". Bush and Cheney are/were liars. I still didn't see her inciting violence, however, the people chanting "explicative the USA" were wrong for doing so. I have a lot of issues with my country, but chanting such things won't fix it.

I'm sorry I jumped the gun with my reply, I just don't understand how you deny the actual footage of what happened. It's like saying, "If 911 really happened, it was a terrible tragedy." It racks my brain trying to understand how the obvious and proven is in question because Rupert and Sarah say it ain't so.

I agree with you, plenty of those in Washington need to be kicked to the curb. However, Obama is not one of those people. The man has bent over backwards to bring two parties together. The division in this country is insane!

Dana,

In your haste to jump right in and find my letter not be be exactly right and fully supportive of your well know positions, you failed to read closely before typing yours. I am not a member of any party, not dem not rep and I only pointed out I was a member of the human race. I care about this country, yes I care about what the ones in Washington are doing to it ,or not doing for it. So now I must take a side in this political drama being played out , here and everywhere else? As for standing up for either side, my mother once told me never support anything ,you dont believe in, and I dont support anyone in Washington D C today. I think they are all power crazy, and for the most part a bunch of drunks, or fools or both. Please remember before you jump so quick, to find flaw, I know there are both parties in Washington and yes i find fault in them all for the most part. I will never support anyone , or any goverment that I no longer believe in. I was also taught to end every discussion on a positive note, let me be the very first to say I always enjoy your posts, and your thoughts ,your passion, and your feelings about our great country. I know in my heart that you are a great American. You might want to take a look at some of the major players, like Ms Maxine Waters and her protest actions, things happen on both sides huh?

Well said, Hamlet. I don't want to interupt anyone's right to disagree with policy, but disagree with policy, don't disagree with the entire party based on loyalty alone. Furthermore, when people in your party do things like this, speak up! If you don't speak up, you allow the entire party to be hijacked by radicals.

As far as a the race thing goes, don't play stupid, we all know racism when we see it. Don't turn a blind eye and say, I don't see the video, so it didn't happen. You know, I didn't need to see the video footage of James Earl Ray shooting MLK to know he did it! How many people would be convicted of crimes if you needed the "actual video footage" to prosecute?

I'm sure there are lots of people out there who don't like Obama based on many other reasons other than race. I'm also sure there are many people out there who dislike him based on the color of his skin alone.

And Mike, if you don't agree with the vile, racist and bigoted protesters, denounce them in your letters instead of making excuses. If you have the courage to stand up and call it wrong, you won't be lumped together with them. If you defend them, it's logical to assume you believe what they believe.

If all else fails, pull the race card.

'His piece today is imaginatively titled, “African American Tea Party Members are Uncle Toms.”

Unfortunately, I’ve witnessed a few token African Americans speak at Tea Party conventions and demonstrations. These blacks are traitors to their race and the two ideals of democracy and liberty, and they deserve to be called “Uncle Toms”. Angela McGlowan is a black congressional candidate from Mississippi who is involved in The Party. This woman is not only a traitor to her race, but she’s an idiot as well. For a black person from the Deep South to be a part of a racist organization just boggles the mind.

Racism is alive and well in America." '

Mike, not agreeing with some of the policies of the current administration does not make you a racist, but congressmen standing on the steps of congress supporting an assembled group of protesters who are yelling "NIGGER AND FAGOT" at other elected congressmen and spitting on them does make a person a racist! Also offering support for the members of the republican party who did this MAKES YOU A RACIST, in my eyes and in the eyes of most of the WORLD! I am sure that there are a number of red neck racist in S.C. and also in this area who are going to disagree with me. The facts are simple Mike. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and is growing duck feathers, you can bet your bippy that you are dealing with a duck and not a raccoon!
