Richmond Senior’s men’s tennis team rallied from Wednesday’s loss against East Montgomery nicely on Thursday, dropping Hoke in a Southeastern Conference dual meet at home.

With the win, Richmond improved to 6-4 overall (4-2 SEC).

The victory completed a season sweep of the Bucks by the Raiders.

Richmond took five of the six singles matches and swept all three doubles matches in posting the dominating conference win.

In singles competition, at No. 1 singles, Richmond’s Max Wittek defeated Jan Williamson,. 6-1, 6-0; at No. 2, Alex Auman beat W. Josefs, 6-0, 6-1; at No. 3, Jonathan Thames dispatched V. Trebat, 6-1, 6-1; at No. 4, Andrew Wheeler beat W. Mounn, 6-1, 6-1; at No. 5, Ryan Page defeated B. Terrones, 6-2, 6-3; and at No. 6, Richmond’s Cameron Page lost to Hoke’s B. Nunn, 6-2, 7-5 (10--7).

In doubles, at No. 1, Richmond’s Witttek and Auman defeated Williams and Josef, 8-1; at No. 2, Thames and Ryan Page beat Trebat and Nunn, 8-3; and at No. 3, Richmond’s Wheeler and Cameron Page bested Hoke’s Terrones and Perez, 8-2.

Richmond is now idle until after Spring Break.

The Raiders will host Purnell Swett Tuesday, April 13 at 4 p.m. as SEC competition continues.
