GOP should apologize

Tea Party Patriots gathered in the Capitol and showered racist and homophobic abuse on Congress members supporting health care reform.

Protesters called Atlanta Congressman Lewis a n----, spat on Congressman Cleaver and called Congressman Frank a faggot. In the Texas district, Tea Baggers called Congressman Rodriguez a wetback.

Republicans have refused to condemn these acts of hatred and bigotry. Republican Congressman Nunes even went as far as to blame Democrats for the protesters’ hateful invectives, and affirmed the protesters’ “right to say what they want.”

Republican Bachman says that she wants the people of Minnesota “armed and dangerous.”

Republican Boehner threatened that Democrat Steve Driehaus was a “Dead Man.”

Republican King went so far as to say, “Let’s beat them to a pulp! Let’s take them out!”

For two years, Republican politicians have been calling Democrats anti-American, while suggesting to supporters that they perpetrate violence on their political opponents.

Republican Tea Party extremists have made death threats against lawmaker’s children, thrown bricks through office windows of Congress, and ‘Tea Party Terrorist’ even sent an envelope to a Democrat Congressman with white powder telling him to “drop dead.”

There’s almost nothing that the Tea Party Patriots can do or say that Republican Senators and Congressmen will not defend.

If we let the Republicans get away with condoning this kind of disgusting rhetoric from their Tea Party Patriots, we will witness the end of any resemblance of civil public debate in this country.

The Republicans must apologize for their hate-spewing proxies. It is not acceptable for Republicans to defend bigotry and hate among their supporters.

It’s time for the leaders of the Republican Party to end this dangerous Republican demagoguery. Republicans have become the “brand new home grown ‘Tea Party terrorist.”

Dana will never admit when she is wrong, why didn`t the Democrats apologize when the guy hit the truck driver with a brick following the O J trial.

Because they had nothing to do with it, dummy.

The video proves just the opposite. This is a man yelling instead of spitting. And Cleaver is livid.

The Huffington Post is a liberal American news source according to Wikepedia I get email from them daily. They are always trying to get me to have parties to get some far left liberal elected

Dana,

The video of the alleged incident involving Congressman Cleaver still doesn't show any spitting. You can try and "spin" it as much as you want. Like I said before, if it happened it was WRONG. Can I not stress that enough? I'm not saying it didn't. I wasn't there.

The video you reference to, is the same video that has been shown since the incident occurred. Still no proof. If the protester had spit on Congressman Cleaver, why didn't the police officer that was standing right there arrest the protester then and not later? Also, why didn't Congressman Cleaver have him prosecuted? If someone spit on me, I would have them prosecuted, wouldn't you?

These Congressmen walked through the crowd looking to antagonize them and get them to do something that would reflect negative on the Tea Party. It wasn't happening so they had to make up lies. Period. Again, if it happened, I will be the first to say it was WRONG. I have no problem admitting when someone does something wrong.

As far as the video of the man being rammed by another car because he had an Obama/Biden sticker on his car goes, again, if that is the true case, then it is WRONG. What do you want me to say? That the GOP should apologize for it? There are "crazies" on both sides of the isle. I think you've always had it and you always will. That's just the way it is.

I'll debate the issues with you all day long, but keep the "spin" to yourself. You can't talk about issues, only lies.

See you on another letter, I'm done with this one!

Your Friend,

Josh Austin

Josh,

Here's some proof, I guess they don't show this on Fox news.

Here's the video of the spitting

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/28/congressman-spit-on-by-te_n_516300.html

And here's the video of the guy who was attacked for having an Obama sticker on his car.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5pdwTQ4xA8

So, let the spin begin.

I think all of you should go and hang with Glenn Beck, you sound so much like him it's scary and hard to comprehend.

josh austin. Dana is way smarter than any of the commenters here at the RCDJ blogs. You can't keep up with her so just accept the fact of defeat.

You want to know where Patti is, uh she wrote the letter. I guess she's standing firm.

Hurray for healthcare! God Bless our President for caring.

Dana, again you said: "Josh, its sad you've been so brainwashed by others. The right and wrong of this is pretty black and white. It is wrong to spit on, throw bricks at, send white powder to, and call name at.. the congressmen of this country."

I AGREE with you 100%. The right and wrong of this is black and white. Period. I'm just making the point that you need to prove it. Of all the camera's that were there, none captured this. If someone has proof, then show it. I'm not saying it can't or even didn't happen. However I'm not gonna believe a few Congressmen over hundreds of Tea Partiers.

If it happened, let me be clear, it was WRONG. My point is this, the GOP shouldn't apologize for something the Tea Party groups do. It's absurd. The Tea Party groups should apologize if this event really took place. Like I said before, when you have a group of people as large as the Tea Party, then you're gonna get some "bad apples". It's not and won't be, no matter how hard you and the left try, a reflection on the rest of the Tea Party.

Get over it and find something else to LIE about.

It's your Constitutional RIGHT to "beg to differ" with me. Thanks to the people, like those in the Tea Party, you have that RIGHT. However, I "beg to differ" with you. I believe that, if Hillary were President, the Tea Party groups would be just as active as they are now. You need to realize, instead of being the simple, lie-laced minded person that you are, that the Tea Party groups are actively protesting Congress just as much, if not more, than President Obama. You're not gonna mention that are you. You are a hate monger.

The incidents you refer to below probably did happen. Everyone knows that people from all sides voted for Candidates based on color. Don't you think that President Obama got a lot of African American votes from African American voters based soley on his skin color? Remember, Dana, you're not as slick and sly as you think you are. Your lies are easily seen through and debatable.

As far as the Iraq war........Didn't you say that you actively campaigned for Hillary Clinton? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't she vote in favor of invading Iraq? Didn't President Obama run on ending the "thousands of deaths" that you refer to below. Last time I checked, we're still in Iraq and troops are still dying. That really shows your true colors.

By the way, where's Patti at in all this?

Maybe you all should give Kevin this lecture too, after all he's more guilty of plagiarism than anyone else. Then again, he's on "your side" so I doubt you will have any outrage for Kevin doing the exact same thing. Not only does he copy and paste this propaganda, but he has the nerve to actually question others intelligence while doing so.

Josh, its sad you've been so brainwashed by others. The right and wrong of this is pretty black and white. It is wrong to spit on, throw bricks at, send white powder to, and call name at.. the congressmen of this country. If you have an issue, write them.... protest the policy all day long.... but don't act like racists and bigots. If you act like a racist and a bigot, you'll be called exactly that.

As for Hillary and what could have or would have been, I beg to differ. I worked tirelessly for the Hillary campaign, and watched the insane racism and sexism of this country. If you had worked on either campaign you would realize how wrong you are. I worked for the Hillary campaign, and worked just as hard for the Obama campaign after the primary. I watched life long democrats refuse to vote for Obama based SOLELY on the color of his skin. I watched republicans change affiliation to independent just to vote for Hillary in the primary. Not because they wanted her to win, but because they felt they must do their racist duty to keep that black man out of office.

As I was walking door to door for Obama, a woman actually told me this, "I've voted Democrat all my life, but I won't vote for no N----!" Then she invited me to church with her.

I know it's a hard pill to swallow, it didn't go down well for me either, but I didn't run the other way and call it all propaganda.

You don't like taxes, I get it. I just wish the tea party would have rioted in the streets while trillions of dollars were being thrown away on Iraq. Where was the outrage then? Where was the outrage for years of lies leading us into a bloody battle with the wrong country?

The answer to that is a sad fact, that war didn't effect them directly because Bush was giving out tax cuts. The outrage didn't start until the reality of an economic collapse hit their pocketbook. And to top off the insanity and hypocrisy of it all... the tea party people and the republicans are now rallying the troops against the reform needed to prevent it from happening again.

I just don't see the patriotism in rationalizing thousands of deaths based on lies only to rally up and go to war over reforming health care.

Dana, It does matter and is not ok to mislead by printing untruths as though it was a real column by a credible writer and to add insult to injury, This site was taken straight from somone on Facebook-It was only the opinion of someone who had an axe to grind and there was nothing to support the opinion.

Patti can write in her own words which probably would be much better..

Dana,

Please...........You said: "I didn't realize we needed to cite our sources in a letter (to) the editor. I can vouch for Patti, if it needs to be cited I'm sure she can do that."

She didn't use the information from this website "as a source". She took it, in many ways word for word, and made it seem like she wrote it. I'm sure you can "vouch" for her. Now that's really gonna make her more credible. I'm sure she'll appreciate that.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong. Shouldn't Patti cite the sources at the time of getting the letter published and not after she's been called on it?

Anyway.............The substance of Patti's fabricated letter is what is important. Can I reiterate, FABRICATED.

What is important is the fact that it is full of Liberal propaganda. The Tea Party movement is made up of people from all political affiliations. Republicans, Democrats, Unaffiliated and even Libertarians join together to fight what Congress and the White House is doing. To think that the GOP should have to apologize for what the Tea Party Patriot's do is absurd.

If a Tea Party member does or says anything that is offensive in nature, then the individual who says it should be held responsible. The Tea Party is made up of many, many people. To think that you're not going to get some "bad apples" is frivolous. And to take what a few may do, although not proven, and associate it to the entire movement is irresponsible. Irresponsible.

It's the propaganda that people like Dana and Patti spread that is detrimental to the relationships between the different races and cultures. Their sole intent is to make the entire Tea Party movement out to look like a bunch of racist who are bent on taking down someone because of his/her skin color.

I can assure you, if Hillary Clinton were President, and she did the exact same things that President Obama and Congress is doing, the Tea Party groups would still be front and center, insuring their freedoms aren't being taken away. I don't think it would matter who the person is or their political affiliation, this group of people isn't gonna just let their freedoms be taken away.

Patti and Dana, you are more dangerous, with your ways of spreading harmful propaganda, than the "insane militia" that you reference to below. In your own way, you are trying to insinuate that the members of the "Christian" militia group are members of the GOP. Shame on you. You and the lies that you perpetrate are very dangerous. You know that the GOP would never condone what the Militia group had planned and to make that reference is insane.

Dig deep down and think about the hate that you are spewing and spreading. Yourself and Patti can't stand the fact that there is a large group out there who aren't going to bow down to everything that the left is trying to force upon ALL Americans. I applaud the Tea Party groups for putting political affiliation aside, coming together and standing up for their rights and freedoms.

Even you, Dana, will benefit from the hard work and dedication that the Tea Party movement puts into standing up for ALL Americans. I forgive you for your vile ways and I hope you will see through your own problems and wake up.

You guys are certainly all up in the air for all the wrong reasons! Who cares if certain quotes were taken from another website? I didn't realize we needed to cite our sources in a letter the editor. I can vouch for Patti, if it needs to be cited I'm sure she can do that.

Only a group of INSANE people could take a letter like this and not only deny all of it, but then spin it into an issue of who wrote what!

Yet again, they are not embarrassed. Fortunately the majority of sane republicans are, and they jumped this shipwreck long ago!

WAY TO GO, DEMOCRATS... WAY TO GOVERN!
|
April 01, 2010
You guys too upset to talk about the issues here. There are serious problems with the Patriots, they are acting like the Ku Klux Klan.
|
April 01, 2010
What more could I possibly add to this insanity? They are not embarrassed by their acts, or the acts of the insane party they uphold. They wear their badge of bigotry and hate with pride!

If others do cross the line, they call it a lie and deny all truth. This really shouldn't surprise us at all. I suppose that insane militia just arrested were a bunch of democrats? Or were they planted by the democrats to make the sane right look bad? I can hear the lies coming now.

It really doesn't matter if you admit it or not, the actions in this letter were real and were really committed by insane right wing radicals with a complete disregard for civility. Furthermore, the more you these people continue to act like this, the more they alienate any sane person from the party. I am confident the party of sanity will win over the party of insanity.

That Hopey Changey thing is really working for us, as we continue to do GOVERN despite the party of insanity's efforts to bring all governing to a halt.

April 01, 2010
Patti, the website was inserted by someone in Facebook and there was no information to support the claim. Careful what you post. When you print the words of someone who is lying, you are just spreading the lies.
|
April 01, 2010
Patti, if you are going to copy, please copy from a website that doesn't print lies and exaggerations. This site is filled with hate and ridiculous accusations. You can't believe anything on this site.

April 01, 2010
This is the best letter that I have read to the journal in almost two years. I'm tired of the same old Republican lies. I don't really care where it came from. If you guys think that it is plagiarism, why don't you launch a law suit. oops... I can hear the sound of old yeller!!! GOP get a life!!

I thought Patti and Ron had eloped?

April 01, 2010
Patti, you should be apologizing to the person that you plagiarized your letter from. You were smart enough to change a few words and add some of your own. However, it’s evident that you stole the substance of your letter from someone else. This is what the Democrats do. People, if you don’t believe me, copy and paste this link into your address bar: http://bravenewfilms.org/blog/?cat=1

It’s sad that you can’t come up with your own letter to write to the editor. Very sad. Shame on you. Patti
|
April 01, 2010
PATTI- you did not write this article!! You plagiarized this!! Patti I hope there are those that will do their homework and call you out on this. YOU and OBAMA have alot in common you both LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its always strange how the dummycrats are always the first ones to point out that the actions of a few FOOLS represent the whole GOP. Same thing if someone bombs an abortion center. People start hollering that the christians did it, or if a gay person gets beat up, the christians dis it. Well guess what Patti and others. It was the DEMOCRATS who took away our freedoms and voted for a failure of a healthcare plan led by none other than our failure president Obama and his hideous sidekick Pelosi. Oh, don't forget "Congessman who thinks he knows eveything" James "lets vote him outta office" Clyburn. Count on it, there will be changes in the 2010 election. Count on it. Understand, I dont hold with spitting on someone, or calling someone the "N" word.

and code, I don't understand the remark - short answer. You gave no answer to my post. Would you apologize for something you did not do? What you, Hamlet and Patti want is not really an apology. You want admission. I think Democrats should apologize for the Congressmann making an accusation without any evidenc to support it. "but they are not going to!"
