“We will travel to Bon Air Presbyterian Church in Richmond for a free concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10,” said Dr. William McConnell, director of the choir and associate professor of music. “We will then provide music at the Sunday morning worship service at King’s Grant Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach.”
The tour will conclude with the Homecoming Concert on April 12 in Avinger Auditorium. Free and open to the public, the doors will open at 7 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. performance.
The choirs are made up of 25 students representing 13 states from Hawaii to North Carolina and the nations of Papua New Guinea and Brazil. Music in the choir’s concert repertoire includes both sacred and secular selections ranging from Renaissance madrigals and motets to spirituals and recently composed choral masterworks.
The choir has performed throughout the southeastern United States, with concert appearances this spring in North Carolina and Virginia.
