Now for the court house, there is not a building in this country that someone can't get a weapon in, if that person is truly intent on doing so! The local court house is secured enough for the threats that might or might not present themselves. If you don't think it is then I suggest you make your complaint to the Sheriff Dale Furr since the security is set up by him not Bo Frye. I have been there numerous times and it's much safer there than alot of court houses I have visited in the state. Short of strip searching the hundreds of people that pass through the doors on a daily bases, some who are just there to get passport or marriage license, I think they do a good job! Maybe you think we should slam people on the ground and start dragging there clothes off to be absolutely sure they don't have a weapon. Well the answer to people qualified to make that decision would be no. Your decision would yes. You see Bo Frye has spent his time in Charlotte dealing with drug cartels and major street gangs. His experience in 1 year in Charlotte is equal to about 5 years in Richmond county. The amount of people in Charlotte and the amount crime is at least 100 times more in Charlotte than in Richmond county. The criminals are far more advanced and far more dangerous there. If you don't agree then put your money where your mouth is and park you car and take a walk by yourself at about eleven o clock at night and we'll see how that works out for ya. Bo frye has been a part of federal task forces with partners who only have innitials for names FBI, ICE, DEA you get the picture. Bo Frye has more HANDS ON Law Enforcement that any two Candidates running. Mr Clemmons is a Nice Guy too, but I just don't think he is ready for the position of Sheriff, maybe in a few more years but not yet! Mr. Sessoms has been in the detective division for a while, I don't know him, But I have heard some of the decisions he has made in his investigative work and I don't think he is going to be a good Sheriff! Now Mr. Martin, I do not know this man, But I can tell you that his reputation or just what I have heard from alot of people who have a personal first hand basis of him say that he is not a people person and thats ok because I am accused of this on a weekly basis. I'm not running for a political office and that is a must, to be a people person. No one wants to call the Sheriff with a complaint and be told to go pound salt all the time! As far as his accomplishments as the Police Chief? I have never heard of one great accomplishment that he has been responsible for, but then again it's Rockingham how much crime did he actually face. I do know that the major Mexican Drug Cartels have been using Atlanta for a home base for many years. Lately these same cartels are leaving Atlanta because of the federal heat they have been getting. Do you wanna take a guess at where they are moving too? I'll tell you, the Major Drug Cartels are relocating to smaller towns in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee! If you the NEWSJUNKIE101 really spent any time reading the news you would see that Richmond county is slowly being involved with more drugs from the mexican cartels and when you get more drugs you get more crimes. Remember the little incident in the north part of the county where the Richmond county deputy was shot serving a search warrant with the SBI ? Mexican Drugs! None of the candidates other than BO FRYE have dealt with criminals on this level. So I ask you Mr newsjunkie101 when the stuff hits the fan do want a Sheriff who has over 30 years of dealing with big time criminals to take charge or do you want the people who have sat behind a desk most of there career. Or even worse a Mr Martin who has been retired for the past 8-9 years? Talk about a disconect with the world of criminology! I can tell you when it happens, your deputies better be johnny on the spot with no time for second guessing. SO I WILL CHOOSE TO PICK THE MAN THAT BEST FITS THE JOB DESCRIPTION NOT SOMEONE BECUASE OF THERE POLITCAL PARTY AFFILIATION. Meyersguys, I really appreciate the input. I think its great that people can come on here and have so many opinions. I like the Kool- Aid remark, but I prefer sweet tea. I'm glad to see that Kool- Aide is your preferable drink since you started the AA meetings and I glad to see that you have decided to go the sober way. I do think that when you wrote your post, that maybe the Kool-Aide you were drinking might have been a little tainted with some of the souths favorite shine. You see Dale Furr has not endorsed any of his employees that are running, because it just would'nt be fair to any of them to pick one or the other. Mr. Clemmons is third in command in rank structure that is, but no endorsement from the Sheriff HMMMMM? So does it really matter if Bo is in a higher position at the Sheriffs office? No it does not. You see Bo Frye unlike any of the other candidates running, either Democrat or Republic has more experience and education in Law Enforcement than any two candidates put together. Bo Frye has REAL HANDS ON EXPERIENCE! Oh yeah some can say they have been in Law Enforcement for a long time, but if you look, none of them have NEVER done anything but sit behind a desk! How can you lead your men if you have never been there to and know what its like? Yeah I can give you a job running my transmission shop but if you have never seen the inside of a transmission your not going know whats goign on. Clemmons worked the road for a few years, promoted to supervisor. Thats a desk job. Martin Chief of Police, hmmmm? Just how many people lived in the city limits of Rockingham when he was chief, 3000? The city of Rockingham is no where near the size of Richmond County. I'm not even gonna get into the fact that his whole Law Enforcement career was during the time of the countys good ole boy system high life, which he has proven to be a part of just by how his replacement came to be. Go do some searching in that one and you will get the hornets nest. So from your post, I can gather that you are either a fan of Martin or of the tire guy in Scotland county since you said you won't vote for any one that is affiliated with Dale Furr. Which leads me to the final of this post if you are gonna come on here and try to sway peoples opinion by throwing out rumors that you probably heard at the AA meeting or you are involved with Mr. Martins campaign, then at least come up with a better lie than being over paid! I know, why don't you write a post on just what your favorite candidate has done to better the people of this country while he was in Law Enforcement instead of trying to spread rumors. You probably won't have more than a few sentences but people like small post as well, so give it a try. Remember Democrat or Republican both are American and you would think that a local Richmond county citizens who served his country in the U.S. Marine during war time would get a little more respect from the people. Some may chide you as a deserter of their party and others may say you are a infiltrator of their party, I see you instead as a true American Patriot and concerned citizen of Richmond County putting Principle over politics and supporting a candidate you believe in regardless of political affiliations. When citizens put aside their political differences and vote for Honest and Moral candidates everyone wins! Voting is not checking off the D or R on a ballot, its simple minded display of ignorance that the two big box parties are counting on and promoting to trust them to govern and control your lives.

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity, according to Einstein. If you listen to the rumor mill and vote accordingly without hearing from the candidates themselves you deserve what you get. Stop listening to the declamatory carping and rumors going on and vet every candidate yourself. Personally, I would like to see the day that a voter can vote for whom ever they wish to vote for, instead we are forced to pick a Political Party and only vote for those running on that Political Parties ballot.....That's not the "Free Elections" that the writers of the North Carolina Constitution were guaranteeing us when they wrote in our NC D.O.R. Article I, Sec. "10. Sec. Free elections. All elections shall be free." I am a disenfranchised citizen due to the overbearing archaic rule of law set by the Democrat and Republican Political Parties forcing by law when voting to vote for a Political Party and not individual candidates. WOW, I did not know that Bo Frye was serving kool-aid at his campaign. Yes Bo Frye did grow up in Richmond County, I know this because I grew up with him. Bo Frye is not Sheriffs material, and TOMDAPOPO from Anson Co. I think you are not in touch, Frye is not now nor will he ever be the front runner. The fact remains that his little circle of support is coming from the Republican party. If you are not a registered Dem you can not vote for the next sheriff of Richmond County. I beleive the only two men that are running that have any chance of winning are Eddie Martin and James Clemmons. All the rest is back ground noise. If Bo Frye is so great why does Dale Furr not give him a position of more responsibilty rather than running a metal detector? And he is not even in charge of that! I have seen numerous other deputies doing the same thing. I wonder what his life long friend Dale Furr really thinks of him? If he has such impeciable creditials and is the best man for the job, why if Dale not supporting him? But maybe he knows that Dale has ruined his reputation with this current mess. I will not vote for anyone that is affiliated with Dale Furr.

And I am sure Bo does not anyone to know how he himself was violating the law by working and recieiving more money from the county than was allowed. This is well known in Richmond County and Dale Furr helped cover this up and sweep it under the rug for his buddy and worked out a 'repayment' plan so it would go away. More buisness as usual in the Richmond County Sheriff Office.

Newsjunkie101, are you one of those people that claim to have been obducted by aliens? Do believe the moon people are living next door to you? You have no idea of reality do you? First off I am a republican have been all my life and I am switching to democrat just so I can vote for Bo Frye. I wonder how well off the democratic party will be when others do the same. Second, the court house is an instituition not a building, the states judges, DA's,Clerk of courts and the Sheriffs office itself are housed there. To have such a job of securing this institution is far more of a prestigous job than sitting behind a desk all day long. You know come to think of it theres another Law Enforcement agency that does this to, it's call the Federal Marshalls Office. Should they ask the Sheriff for a managerial possision as well? If you took as much time reading Mr. Fryes qualifications, as you do talking to the space men, you would see that not only is Bo Frye a man of integrity, but he is honest, trustworthy and most of all overly qualified to be a local Sheriff. Bo Frye does'nt need to fit in with the peolple of Richmond county, he was raised here and has Richmond County in his blood. He is a U.S. Marine corps veteran and has more accomadations and awards than any two candidates running! As far as Bo Fryes standings in the up coming election, trying to use mind games by making people think that the front runner is in last place, is a poor attempt at changing peoples minds on who to vote for. Your letter is nothing more than dirty name calling politics! I don't know which candidate had you come up with this mockery of a letter, but the people of Richmond county are smarter than you think. A simple pulling the wool over the eyes trick won't work! Oh and I don't work for Bo Fryes campaign either and I AM A POLICE OFFICER WITH IMPECABLE CREDENTIALS, so when it comes to knowing who would be a great Sheriff I WOULD! Are you a current/former Republican or neither? If you are the Billy Cipriani that I know, then you were a Republican. Can you vote for the candidate you are representing?

People, keep in mind that Bo Frye was a Republican when he moved back here to Richmond County and only changed his registration to "fit in". If he's not independent enough to register his heart, then what's to say he, himself, has the mindset and ability to run the Sheriff's Office. Also, if I were running for Sheriff, I would request from Sheriff Furr to move me to a more managerial position then working the door at the Courthouse.

I am, by no means, a pollster. However, from what I'm hearing, I think that Mr. Frye, should the Primary be held today, would finish last.

A Public Debate would be nice, but it wouldn't be a Campaign saver for Mr. Frye like Mr. Cipriani thinks.

Either way, good luck and I'm looking forward to the General Election, which I predict Mr. Frye won't be a part of.
