An Aberdeen man facing murder charges in the death of Sayquan Dametrias Baker on Monday has several prior charges and two convictions, according to Richmond County court documents.
Baker, 23, was found dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Ellerbe Monday afternoon from apparent gunshot wounds, Richmond County Sheriff Dale Furr said Wednesday.
Cadara Antwon Armstrong, 23, and three others were picked up by deputies Tuesday for questioning and arrested at the sheriff’s office the same day.
Court records say that prior to this week’s charges, Armstrong was incarcerated in March 2008 for misdemeanor assault with intent to seriously injure. He was jailed for a violation of probation terms from an earlier conviction.
He spent a little over two months in the Richmond County Jail.
In February 2003, Armstrong was arrested on charges of misdemeanor simple affray but those charges were dropped, court records said.
In February 2006, he was found guilty of misdemeanor resisting a public officer and sentenced to six months probation. Another charge of misdemeanor disorderly conduct was dropped.
In April 2006, two charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to seriously injure were dropped and he was convicted of the lesser crime, misdemeanor assault with intent to seriously injure.
A misdemeanor assault on a female charge was dropped in June 2007.
In addition to Armstrong, three Ellerbe men were charged with accessory after the fact. Dequawn Anthony Nicholson, Carlos Jermaine Bostick and Kendrick Dezron Little had no previous charges on their records.
Armstrong is being held without bond in the Richmond County Jail awaiting an April court date.
All three men charged with accessory after the fact were placed under separate $25,000 bonds.

I sure hope for the sake of justice that the defense calls you to testify. Maybe if the Sheriff had not had been wasting our money and his resources following the DA around he could have prevented this terrible crime. The Sheriffs office has been known to arrest the wrong person, so who know, your baby's daddy may be innocent.
