Auction to raise money for youth programs

A benefit auction and plate sale for the 4-H program in Richmond County will be held on Friday at Browder Park in Rockingham. Proceeds will be used locally to support leadership and youth development through programs ranging from school enrichment programs, summer camps, Summer Fun classes, leadership training and club activities.

Spaghetti plates will be available for sale at $6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The auction starts at 7 p.m.

The auction includes gas tanks, home decorations, dresses, and a beach condo rental. There are also gift certificates including dinners at local restaurants.

Tom McInnis and associates of Iron Horse Auction Company, Inc., who will be conducting the auction at no charge to the 4-H program.

If you would like to mail a donation, please make checks payable to Richmond County 4-H and mail to P.O. Box 1358, Rockingham, NC 28380. If you would like to donate any items, you can bring them to the Cooperative Extension Office at 123 Caroline St., or call 997-8255 for an item pickup. All donations are tax deductible.

Richmond County 4-H is supported by the United Way of Richmond County.
