James “Jimmy” K. Rogers, 76, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 6, 1933 in Robeson County, a son of the late James Kelly Rogers, Sr. and Ada Dallas Rogers.

Mr. Rogers retired from Pepsi-Cola with 45 years of service.

He was preceded in death by a son Frankie Rogers and three siblings.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Joey Byrd officiating.

Surviving, his wife of 59 years, Doris Prevatte Rogers of the home; a daughter, Trish (Marshall) Brown of Hamlet; sons, James “Sonny” K. Rogers Jr. and Kenny (Kaye) Rogers both of Rockingham; a daughter-in-law, Christi Rogers of Southport; a brother, Anthony (Judy) Roger of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Kelli (David) Barbery, Keni Ann and Kyle Rogers, Savannah, Dakota, Colby Rogers, Tiffany Webb, Allen Usher and Natalie Brown; and great grandchildren, Ethan Boyette, Tyler Boyette, Christian Boyette, Ashlyn Barbery, Talley Webb and Conner Usher.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. . at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home of his son Kenny Rogers 1821 Baker St. Rockingham.
