Milligan
Michael Andrew Milligan, 21, West Ridge Court, Rockingham was killed Tuesday morning when his car crossed the center line and hit a log truck head-on on Hwy. 73 near Ellerbe.
Milligan was traveling east about 8 a.m., according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
Both Milligan and Wesley Bryan McLendon, 23, Hwy. 73, Mt. Gilead, were traveling at 55 miles per hour at the time of the accident.
After the accident, both vehicles traveled off the side of the road and came to rest in a ditch.
Milligan’s vehicle was pushed back 268 feet.
Both men were transported to FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
No citations were issued.
Damage to McLendon’s Mack was estimated at $30,000 and Milligan’s 1994 Nissan received $2,500 in damages.
