The Georgia state Senate recently passed (47-2) a bill that would ban forced microchip implantation in humans. Hopefully the Georgia state House will do the same. I think that our General Assembly should pass similar legislation in our state.
Right now it is common for some pets and livestock to have these implants. Once the technology gets better, and the prices go down, some people will call for mandatory implants for prisoners, convicted felons, mental patients, and maybe even children (to prevent kidnapping)
The federal government, and corporations, should be banned from having the power to force, or require, microchip implants in humans.

Let me see now, thanks to Geo Bush the government can listen in on my telephone conversations, go on line and monitor my bank account, access my medical records all without my permission. In 5 minutes Washington can find out how many (dental)
cavities I have. South Carolina has enough nuclear waste stored in the state to contaminate the whole southeast and the State of Ga. is wasting taxpayers money to check into the possibility of implanted computed chips. This is right up there with the State of S. C. passing a law that requires children to say yes sir to their teachers! No wonder the whole world thinks we are crazy! WE ARE
Believe me, no one will EVER "chip" you. If you were lost, who'd want to find you?
How do you know for sure that we DON'T have microchips implanted already?? How many citizens have tooth fillings, had surgery, or invasive procedures? I may sound paranoid but umbilical blood banks contain our DNA. It is a process that has been used for years. Technology allows conversations in buildings to be detected by satellites and cell phones have that neat little GPS tracking system. "Big Brother" has already invaded our privacy, he is now just asking for formal permission.
