Shirley Jones, best known for television’s The Partridge Family, hosts the upcoming performance of the Hollywood Concert Orchestra on Tuesday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m. at The Robert L. & Elizabeth S. Cole Auditorium at Richmond Community College in Hamlet.
The show features music from dozens of classic and recent feature films. “A Night At The Oscars” features Jones performing memorable songs from her classic movies, such as Carousel, The Music Man and Oklahoma!
In addition to her most-famous small-screen role, Jones has appeared in numerous television shows and films, the film adaptations of several Broadway musicals, and many stage productions. She won the Academy Award for her dramatic performance in Elmer Gantry.
“It is a pleasure to be able to bring a star of the caliber of Mrs. Jones to Richmond County and to the stage of the Cole,” said Cole Auditorium Director Joey Bennett. “In addition to the appearance of Mrs. Jones, there will be
music from a large and varied assortment of movies from numerous decades. There’s truly something for everyone.”
The show includes musical selections from Titanic, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Gone With The Wind, The Sound of Music, Forrest Gump, E.T., and The Wizard of Oz.
The Hollywood Concert Orchestra, an ensemble of 35 of America’s finest musicians, will bring these famous songs from big screen to the Cole stage.
