Mr. Kenneth Lee Rush, 41, legally known as Kamal Abdul Karim, son of Patricia Thompson Rush and Robert Lee Rush, died Jan. 31, 2010 in Detroit, Mich.

He was born April 18, 1968 in Richmond County. He attended Richmond County Schools and graduated in 1986. He worked for Mayco Inc. in Detroit, Mich.

Public viewing will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 from 1-6 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Service in Rockingham.

Funeral service will be held at Ashley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Rockingham at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 with the Rev. Ricardo Leak, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ashley Chapel Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia Thompson Rush of Rockingham; his father, Robert Lee Rush of Akron, Ohio; three sons, Kenneth Lee Rush, Jr. of Greensboro, Kamal and Jamal Rush of Hamlet; wife, Tameka Karim of Detroit, Mich. and two step-daughters, Bianca and Brittane German; sisters, Barbara Durham of Savannah, GA, April Rush of Hamlet and Nikki Dervin of Rockingham and two grandmothers Anna Thompson of Hamlet and Lucy Rush of Ellerbe.
