Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at the Cordova United Methodist Church with burial following at Richmond County Memorial Park. Rev. Jim Hines will be officiating the services.
David was born Jan. 22, 1947 in Hamlet, son of the late Burch Robson and Mandy Steen Robson. He served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy. David was a hard worker, working many years for Clark Incorporated and retiring from Sealed Air Corporation after 20 years of dedicated service.
David was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to fish in both fresh water and especially in ocean waters and sharing his catch in a family meal. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed the fellowship and laughter of others.
In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by a brother, Doug Robson, a sister, Sue Robson Rishel and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Annie Chavis.
David is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandra “Sandy” Chavis Robson of their home; daughter, Nicki Robson Thomas of Fort Polk, LA; his son, David “Davey” Harrison Robson, II of the home; three brothers, James Willard Robson of Aberdeen; Curtis Robson of Ellerbe, Jerry Robson of Cordova; five sisters, Jean R. Coleman of Hamlet, Libby R. Hughes of High Point, Patricia Robson of Rockingham, Catherine R. Robinson of Candor, Wanda R. O’Neal of Rockingham; his grandchildren, Cameron Thomas, Devin Thomas, Rebecca Thomas, Tyler Parker and two special great nieces, Lexie Oxendine and MacKenzie Herzog; many nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
