Residents of the Rockingham Housing Authority now have an extra two weeks to file to run for office on the housing agency’s newly-conceived resident advisory board.
The filing deadline for this body has now been extended until Friday.
Candidates must be 18 years or older, have their name on the lease, be in full compliance with the lease and submit an application by the end of the work week.
Resident advisory board elections will take place February 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Falling Creek Community Center.
In order to vote in the election, residents must be on the lease, be 18 years of age or older and present picture identification.
The resident advisory board is intended to give the residents of the RHA a voice in the decision-making and policy-setting processes of the agency.
