A man told police officers he punched through a window, cutting his face and arms to alert neighbors of robbers in his home on Jan. 20.

Around 1:25 a.m. reports from the Rockingham Police Department say that the victim answered the front door of his home on Cabell Drive after hearing someone knocking.

When he opened the door, three men forced themselves into the house and struck the victim in the face with a handgun.

The three men then pushed the victim back into his bedroom where they forced him down onto the bed, meanwhile still hitting him with the gun.

Reports said that the men commanded the victim to, “Shut up,” and to put a pillow over his face.

The man told officers that once he was able to regain his footing, he ran to the window and punched through the glass so neighbors would hear the commotion.

The three suspects took off with only the victim’s wallet.

The victim was transported to Richmond Memorial Hospital for treatment of lacerations on his face and arms, according to reports from the Rockingham Police Department.

He told officers that one of the men was short and had dreadlocks. The other two were larger, both with dreadlocks and black toboggans.
