She was born Aug. 18, 1930, daughter of David and Bessie Mathis Carlisle.
A memorial service will be held at Tropical Park, Zephyrhills, Fla., at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010.
Survivors include one daughter, Gayle Little of Daytona Fla.; three sons, James Melton of Riverview, Fla., Charles Melton of Wesley Chapel, Fla. and Wayne Melton of Zephyrhills, Fla.; three brothers, James Carlisle of Zephyrhills, Fla., Johnny Brigman of Charlotte and Tommy Brigman of Shallotte; seven sisters, Jean Hatcher, Ruth Eddings, and Kay Richardson all of Rockingham, Joyce Hooper of Zephyrhills, Fla., Addie Hood of Yarington, Nev., Patsy Dunn and Margaret Poythress both of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
