Boothe, McDuffie are married in Shallotte

Stephanie Kay Boothe of Sunset Beach and James Gilbert McDuffie II of Sunset Beach were married Nov. 7, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Jennie’s Branch Baptist Church in Shallotte.

The bride is the daughter of Kim and Daren Hopkins of Shallotte and Paul and Tracy Boothe of Saginaw, Mich. The groom is the son of Chris and Cathy McDuffie of Rockingham. The bride was given in marriage by her parents and the ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Robbie Stephens.

The organist was Judy Harris of Rockingham and the soloist was Jessica Hopkins. The bride wore a white, strapless, A-line dress with cuff neckline and a sweep train, accented with an apple red pleated sash at the waist that trailed the length of the train. The veil was a white elbow-length veil with apple red satin ribbon accent. The maid of honor was Jessica Hopkins of Flint, Mich. Other bridesmaids were Sybil Everhart of Sunset Beach, April Roller of Florence, S.C., Stephanie Stanton of Elberta, Mich. Tabitha Boothe, of Saginaw, Mich., was the junior bridesmaid.

All bridesmaids chose a dress of their choice in apple red.

Dana Simmons of Rockingham and Amanda Young of Ellerbe were hostesses, and Chloey Isabelle Kay Boothe of Sunset Beach was the flower girl.

The best man was Chris McDuffie of Rockingham. Groomsmen were Drew Young of Ellerbe, Johnny Reynolds of Hamlet and C.J. Brewster of Burtt, Mich.

Brian Boothe of Shallotte, Joshua Hopkins of Shallotte were ushers and Nate Pickard of Flint, Mich., was the junior groomsman.

The ring bearer was Jacob James Boothe of Sunset Beach.

The reception was held at the Calabash VFW. The couple took their wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., and now reside at Sunset Beach.
