Angela Faye Patrick and Samuel Mark Cooper of Hamlet were united in marriage in a sunrise ceremony on Sept. 18, 2009 at Sandy Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii.

The bride is the daughter of John and Judy Patrick of Hamlet. She is a 1999 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and a 2001 graduate of King’s College with an associates degree in medical assisting. She is employed at Sandhills ACCT-MHA of N.C.

She is the granddaughter of the late Richard and Gin Patrick and the late Neil and Opal Sweatt.

The groom is the son of Elijah and Sherry Cooper of Ellerbe. He is a 2003 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and is employed at Gattis Construction in Aberdeen.

He is the grandson of the late Ralph and Radda Cooper of Ellerbe and Arthur Glen Martin and the late Doris Martin of Rockingham. He is also the great-grandson of the late Boyce and Lena Martin of Rockingham.

The bride was given in marriage by her father John Patrick. The grooms father, Elijah Cooper was best man. The wedding was officiated by Rev. Michael Nelson.

The bride wore a white, fitted chiffon and satin wedding dress that was accented with a silver beaded lace neckline, side rushing and a dropped waist line was also accented with silver beaded lace with a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of yellow and pink plumeria.

The couple was accompanied to the sunrise ceremony by the bride’s parents, John and Judy Patrick; close friend of the bride, Candace Phelps of Hawaii; the groom’s parents, Elijah and Sherry Cooper; the groom’s brother Ben Cooper; and the groom’s grandfather, Arthur Glen Martin. The couple enjoyed a two-week stay on the Island of Oahu and now reside in Hamlet.
