Video gaming business robbed at gunpoint

Operators of a video gaming business on East Broad Street in Rockingham reported being robbed at gunpoint early in the morning Tuesday.

According to police reports, three armed men entered the business around 1:35 a.m.

One man had a shotgun and the other two were armed with handguns, although the definite caliber and model were not specified in the report.

Upon entering the store, one of the men ordered everyone to get down on the ground before they proceeded further into the store.

A suspect wearing a gray hoodie, reports said, went behind the counter to get the money from the register. The Rockingham Police Department was notified of the incident. After investigating the scene, suspects were tracked to their respective homes for questioning but the report listed no arrests.



Arrests reported by the Rockingham Police Department include:

Clinton Alan Walters, 33, Trexler Drive, Wadesboro, was arrested for misdemeanor failure to appear and misdemeanor probation violation. Bond was set for $12,000.

Michael D’Angelo McDonald, 30, Armstead Street, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor assault on a female.

Stanback Cornelius, 24, Armstead Street, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor assault and battery.

Sherrie Anita Holt, 39, Rockingham, was arrested for second-degree trespassing. She was released with a written promise to appear in court.

Antonio Lamont Brewington, 26, Cauthen Drive, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor larceny. Bond was set at $25,000.

William McNair, 56, Vista Grande Circle, Charlotte, was arrested for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. He was released with a written promise to appear in court.

Emerson Cornelius Wall, 26, JFK Drive, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor assault on a female.

Antonio Sherold Broady, 20, Evans Street, Rockingham, was arrested for misdemeanor assault on a female.

Marcus Lee Ricardo Wilson, 23, Dogwood Lane, Rockingham, was arrested for felony possession with intent to sell or distribute, felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $10,000.

Incidents reported by the Rockingham Police Department include:

Two males were reported entering a store on Pickett Street and jumping behind the counter to steal cash from the register. The amount stolen is estimated at $315.

Someone reported the theft of $600 in welding lead from a hotel on East Broad Avenue.

A woman contacted police when she realized the man she recently married was still legally married to another woman in California. They had been married in the 1960s but were later separated.

A neighbor reported animal cruelty on Bunker Street when they noticed a puppy looking malnourished.

A computer store in Rockingham reported a laptop valued at $350 missing.

Someone reported a Honda 4-wheeler stolen from a home on Steele Street. The 4-wheeler’s value is estimated at $3,355.

Someone on Palisade Circle reported an assault on a female.

On Amber Way, a person reported to police that some had assaulted them and in the process, smashed the windshield of their vehicle.

Someone was reported communicating threats on Fayetteville Road.

A woman reported an assault after her boyfriend, intoxicated and irate, began to threaten her on Lady Mary Lane.

A mailbox was damaged on Country Home Road. Damage was estimated at $30.

A neighbor reported a domestic dispute on Rush Street.

Someone on JFK Drive reported an assault on a female.

An unknown amount of copper tubing was stolen from a man on North Skipper Street.

Someone was reported communicating threats on Leak Street.

Arrest reports published in the Richmond County Daily Journal are copied from local law enforcement records. Except for people injured in motor vehicle accidents or reportable deaths, victims including people, businesses and institutions and their addresses are not included as a matter of newspaper policy.
