Hamlet hoopsters sweep Carver

The Hamlet Middle school basketball teams both remained undefeated at 3-0 Thursday night with wins over Carver Middle School. The boys won, 49-39, while the girls prevailed by a much larger margin, 42-10.

Raheem Bowden led the way for the boys with 22 points. Tyree Jamison added 11, and Mike Rush had seven. Alden Nelson had six and Brendan Jones chipped in with three.

The Hamlet girls were paced by Maya Gary, who had 15 points.

Jade Evans added nine. Jessica Steen and Leie Griffin added four apiece. Janajah Nicholson had three, and Natasha Perry, Keonia Wall and Kassie Smith chipped in with two apiece. Crystal David added one point.

Both Hamlet teams return to action on Monday, when they will host Rohanen.
