Dr. Lauren Alter, who recently relocated from New Jersey, held a ribbon cutting for her medical practice Thursday.

She was surrounded by other members of the chamber, FirstHealth staff and administration, and local officials. The new doctor’s office is located in the 40,000 square foot medical park building next to the hospital at 800 S. Long Drive Suite H. “This is so thrilling, overwhelming,” Alter said during a brief speech. “The big difference between New Jersey and here is the people. You’re all so warm and welcoming. I want to bring the best health care and prevention to this community.”
