23RD ANNUAL COMMUNITY TREE LIGHTING will be held Monday, Nov. 30, at 5:30 p.m. at Hamlet Depot Park on Main Street. The program includes singing, performances by local youth groups and the reading of the Christmas Story along with the Official Lighting of the Tree.

RICHMOND COUNTY SENIOR DEMOCRATS will meet at the Family First Community Center, (the former Harrington’s Restaurant). Refreshments at 5:30 p.m. program at 6 p.m.

CAROLINA HOME EDUCATORS FAMILY SUPPORT (CHEFS) will hold its monthly parent meeting on Dec. 3 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Cheraw Recreation Department Families in Chesterfield, Marlboro, Richmond and Anson counties interested in home schooling are welcome to attend. Auditions for The Domino Effect Talent Show and Toppling Contest will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Leak Street Education and Cultural Community Center. The actual event is planned for 3 p.m. Dec. 12 at the same location, and is meant to promote awareness of problems related to alcohol and substance dependence.

RICHMOND COMMUNITY THEATER OPEN HOUSE 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tour behind the scenes and see what makes a play happen; the lights, the sound, the costumes. Refreshments. Christmas on the Square in downtown Rockingham.

THE 13TH ANNUAL CHRISTMAS ON THE SQUARE downtown Rockingham, with entertainment, crafts and food from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Santa will be on the square all day. Come join the fun and get ready for the holiday season.
