ROCKINGHAM FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH’S Quilting for the Community is having a bazaar on Nov. 21 in the fellowship hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with soups and sandwiches from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

SNEAD GROVE AME ZION CHURCH, 1402 Green Lake Church Road, Ellerbe, is hosting Friends and Family Day on Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Carol Turner, McZarn AME Zion Church in Wagram. Dinner will be served.

WOMBLE CHAPEL AME ZION CHURCH, Lilesville, will have the Rockingham District’s 2nd Missionary Mass Meeting on Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. Host pastor is Rev. Yvette Capel.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, Marston, is having their pre-Thanksgiving musical on Nov. 21. It will feature local choirs, groups, praise teams, mime teams and others.

TEACH MINISTRIES will host a program entitled, “I Am Walking in Increase”, on Nov. 21 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Richmond Community College. Rev. Dr. Saundra Wall Williams and the faculty of TEACH Ministries will hold the event.

ST. LUKE #2 FWB CHURCH, 119 Morrow St., Dobbins Heights, will host their Annual Women Conference on Nov. 20 and Nov. 21. Service will begin at 6 p.m. with Rev. Anthony Waymyers on Nov. 20. On Nov. 21, it will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a breakfast. Rev. Ray of Fayetteville, Elder. Margaret Wilson of Bennettsville and Rev. Joletha Dockery and Elder Gloria McArthur of Windblow will all be present. Lunch will follow. William Knotts, owner of Nelson Funeral Home will be present to speak about burial insurance, power of attorney and living wills.

ST. MARY’S HOLINESS CHURCH, 178 Channie McManus Drive, Dobbins Heights, is announcing their monthly youth restoration fellowship service on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m.

NEW BEGINNINGS PRAYER DELIVERANCE HEALING MINISTRY, 905 1/2 N. Lee St., Rockingham, invites all to a pre-thanksgiving program on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. Speaker will be Pastor Luther McLendon of Galilee AME Zion Church in McFarlan.

WHOLE WORD GOSPEL CHURCH will be having a “Giving Thanks” program Saturday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. at 328 Airport Road, Rockingham, NC 28379.

GREEN LAKE AME ZION CHURCH, Gibson, is having their Thanksgiving Revival on Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Moody, pastor of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Nov. 23 and Nov. 24 at 7 p.m., Rev. Anthony Waymyer, pastor of Grace Temple Fellowship Church will speak.

MT. PISGAH AME ZION CHURCH, Leak Street, Rockingham, and the Christian Education Department is sponsoring a “Ships of Zion Program” on Nov. 22 at 2:30 p.m. Various speakers will be present from the Rockingham District.

FAITH TEMPLE HOLINESS CHURCH is celebrating their pastor’s anniversary beginning on Nov. 19 through Nov. 22. The speaker on Nov. 19 is Pastor Odessa Brown. Nov. 20, pastor Gary Marshall and Nov. 21 is Doris York. On Nov. 22 it will be pastor William McLaughlin. Service starts at 7:30 p.m. nightly.

THE HAMLET MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION invites all to attend AN annual Thanksgiving Prayer Service on Nov. 22. This year’s host will be First United Methodist Church of Hamlet, located at 300 Charlotte St. The preacher will be Rev. Colene Ellerbe, president of the Hamlet Ministerial Association and Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, Hamlet. A love offering will be taken up and all proceeds will go to area outreach ministries.

BETHEL HILL AME ZION CHURCH, 299 Silver Grove Church Road, Rockingham, is having a special program on Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. entitled the “Truelue Tribes of Israel.” The speaker will be Rev. Joletha Dockery of the Rocky Mount AME Zion Church of Ansonville with her choir and congregation.

FAITH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH will have their usual church service on Nov. 22. The choir will render special music under the direction of Winfred Sowders. George & Sandra Long will present children’s Bible time. Fenny Williams will conduct children’s church.

LEE THEE AMEZ CHURCH, 428 Lee Thee Church Road, Rockingham, will have Friends and Family Day on Nov. 22 which begins at 9:45 a.m. services. Dinner will be served. At 3 p.m., Bishop Alester Simpson will be guest preaching.

NEW HOPE BAPTIST CHURCH, 1596 Hwy. 74, Hamlet, will have Rev. Edward Ashe of Freedom Church Ministries, Raeford, guest speak on Nov. 22. Music will be provided by Daniel Gatewood and New Hope Adult Choir.

ABUNDANT LIFE CHURCH, School Street, East Rockingham, will have Family and Friends Day on Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. Journey for Jesus will have a special singing segment and Rev. Frank McQuage will preach.

PLUMBLINE MINISTRIES, U.S. Hwy. 1, Rockingham, invites all to their fellowship services on Nov. 22 with Eld. Joe Davis of Greater Glory Ministries.

PLEASANT HILL AME ZION CHURCH, Galestown Community, will have their Lay Council Meeting on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.

RADICAL PRAIZ TRUE HOLINESS CHURCH OF THE APOSTOLIC FAITH, 120 McArthur St., Hamlet, is having their worship service on Nov. 22 at 11:30 a.m. with guest speaker Prophetess Donna Nicholson. There will also be an evening worship at 7 p.m.

Zion Church and his congregation will render service. The service will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday: They will recognize lifelong member Ms. A. V. Newton. This recognition program will begin at 6 p.m. Sunday: Sister. Melissa Johnson, member of Greater Glory Outreach Ministries will be the afternoon speaker. This service will begin at 3 p.m. A Fellowship Dinner will be served following Sunday morning worship service.

PLAIN TRUTH OF GOD IN CHRIST, 207 Boone St., Rockingham, invite the community to join them on Thanksgiving Day for a service at 10 a.m. on Nov. 26. The guest speaker will be Eld. Paul Whitley, pastor of Revival Temple Church of God in Christ in Troy.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, Rockingham, will present “Christmas Around the World” on Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. with the Sandhills Ringers hand-bell choir. The concert features carols from England, France, Germany and the U.S.

PHILADELPHIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 157 Philadelphia Drive, Rockingham, is having an anniversary service for the church’s senior choir on Jan. 10 at 3 p.m. The pastor is Rev. Dora Dorsey.

PROVIDENCE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1120 East Washington St., will celebrate will a pre-Thanksgiving service on Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Lamont J. Johnson Sr. On Nov. 23, the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Choir will rehearse at 7 p.m. at the church.

HARVEST TIME TABERNACLE will be having their fifth SundayYouth service at 4 p.m. on Nov. 29. Host Pastor is Mildred Harrington. Co-Pastor Na Jean Parker from Raeford Abundant Life Ministries will be the guest speaker. Also they will be having their women to women fellowship service Nov. 28 at 10 a.m. Minister Dianne Hamilton will be the guest speaker.

EMMANUEL MINISTRIES CHURCH, 725 W. Hamlet Ave., Hamlet, is having a youth breakfast on Dec. 12 from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. It is eat-in or take-out.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 201 N. Randolph St., Rockingham, will have the Adult Choir present, “A Festival Carols” written by Joseph Martin and directed by Marjorie Hinson on Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. This Christmas program will include carols accompanied by brass, flute, and oboe.
