A native of Rockingham, Mrs. Kistler was born to the late Paul Clifton and Hattie Lou Sinclair Covington. She moved to Albany in 1974 from Brunswick, where she resided until 1983. She moved to Savannah, GA and returned to Albany in 1995.
Mrs. Kistler was a homemaker and former school teacher. She was a member of the Palmyra Road United Methodist Church and she taught the Wesley Sunday School Class. Mrs. Kistler was a member and past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Crepe Myrtle Chapter # 163. She was preceded in death by her son, Dean L. Kistler.
Survivors include her husband, Lavern Kistler of Albany, GA, a son and his wife, Andy and Robin Kistler of Moultrie, GA, a daughter-in-law, Sheila Hudgins Kistler of Lee County, GA, three grandchildren, Matthew Lee Kistler of Lee County, GA, Andrew Kistler of Moultrie, GA and Nikki Lacey and her husband, Sgt. Richard Joseph Lacey, Jr. of Richlands, NC.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Monday prior to the funeral service at Mathews Funeral Home.
