He was born Feb. 13, 1939 in Richmond County to Mary Ella McLendon and was a poultry worker.
Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Luke Free Will Baptist Church in Ellerbe with Rev. Kevin Henry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
A public viewing will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Saturday at McLendon Funeral Home of Ellerbe.
He is survived by his mother, Mary E. McLendon of Aberdeen, two daughters, Faye Stanback of Norman and Mary Jackson of Jackson Springs, and two brothers, William McLendon and Chester McLendon, both of Ellerbe.
