Christina Renea Hollon and Robert Larry Smith, Jr. of Rockingham were married Oct. 17, 2009 at the East Rockingham Church of God of Prophecy at 6 p.m.

The bride is the daughter of William Hollon of Alabama and Linda Hollon of Hamlet. She is a 1999 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and a 2003 graduate of Richmond Community College with an associates degree in science, medical assistant. She is employed at Dr. Marshall Brown’s office.

She is the granddaughter of the late Lewis and Margaret Cox and Thomas and Lucille Hollon of Kentucky.

The groom is the son of Larry Smith of Rockingham and Helen Smith of Hamlet.

He is a 1997 graduate of Richmond Senior High School and received his Basic Law Enforcement Training from Sandhills Community College in 2001. He is employed with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department.

He is the grandson of Mary Elizabeth Pratt and the late Leroy Pratt of Hamlet, and the late Lewis and Aleice Smith of Rockingham.

The bride was given in marriage by her father William Hollon. The wedding was officiated by the Rev. Jerry Turner and Marshall Norris.

Joe Ford was the organist and Robert Rutherford and Seth Dixon of Hamlet were guitarists. Soloists were Michelle Allen, Robert Rutherford and Chris Smith.

The bride wore an ivory taffeta a-line dress with beaded lace bust and fitted, draped bodice with a chapel train. She wore an ivory fingertip length veil, one tier, with a pencil edge, pearls and rhinestones. Her bouquet was an assortment of fall colors.

The matron of honor was Sharon Hollon of Rockingham. She wore a truffle cotton sateen strapless dress with ruching.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Covington of Rockingham, Jetzabel Dixon of Rockingham, Sonja Frye of Rockingham, Hailey Stafford of Rockingham, Brooke Dawkins of Hamlet, Brooke Deutsh of Southport, Leanne Joyner of Durham and Jennifer Taylor of Tolvea Lake, Calif.

The wedding party included Donna Taylor, the wedding director, of Ellerbe, Stephanie Blount, register, of Rockingham, Hunter Gibson, programs, of Rockingham and Wendell and April Sessoms, reception greeters, of Rockingham.

The flower girl was Ansley Maddox of Atlanta, Ga. Junior bride was Hanna Smith of Rockingham, who wore an ivory crystal accented spaghetti straps over full tulle skirt.

The best man was Larry Smith, father of the groom, of Rockingham. Ushers were Roger Allen of Hamlet, Chris Hollon of Hamlet, Michael Cauley of Rockingham, Mike Cockman of Rockingham, Richard Green of Rockingham, Mickey Dixon of Rockingham, Brian Smith of Indian Trail, Nick Maddox of Atlanta, Ga., and Chris Hardee of Wilmington.

The ring bearer was Chase Hardee of Wilmington and Maddox Frye of Rockingham was the junior groom.

The reception was held at the Richmond Pines Country Club. The couple took their wedding trip to the Bahamas and Disney World and now reside in Rockingham.
