Rockingham police arrested a man for kidnapping within just two hours after the information was posted on the Daily Journal's Web site.

Police Chief Robert Voorhees said Michael Allen Jr. forced a woman into her car at the Falling Creek Shopping Center Thursday night and told her to drive. Police got the tip that lead to the arrest from somebody who saw the information on the web site, Voorhees said.

The chief said the incident happened about 10 p.m. Thursday. The victim was going to her car when approached by Michael Allen Jr. He asked for a light, then threatened the woman and told her to get in the car and drive.

In the area of 177 she jumped out of the moving vehicle. Hamlet EMS took her to Sandhills Regional Medical Center for treatment. The car was later recovered on Mizpah Road.

“We used technology and every detective we have working on this,” Voorhees said.

I would like to post a compliment on behalf of your detective team that responded to this horrifying experience that this woman had to suffer!!!.....I would also like to inquire as to why in the world would anyone who put someone through such trauma be released on bail???

It just doesn't make any sense what so ever to me at all. I assume, he is out there now, ready to snatch his next victim. He should be made to sit in jail until his trial!... there is no excuse for him not too. He is on camera, it is not like it is his word against hers or anything like that. You have picture proven evidence that he is not just a alleged suspect, he is THE SUSPECT who would have most likely killed this young woman, had she not made a choice to do what she did! It was her that saved her own life!!!
