After leading the Richmond Senior volleyball team to new heights, three members of the team received Southeastern Conference postseason honors.
Seniors LaShey Brown, Natalie Brown and Rebecca Kinsey were named to the all-conference.
The seniors helped guide the Lady Raiders to a 16-7 mark and a second-place finish in the conference’s regular season and tournament.
Richmond reached the third round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s state playoffs for the first time in school history.
The Lady Raiders defeated Terry Sanford in the first round and knocked out New Bern in the second round, before being eliminated by defending 4A state champion J.H. Rose in straight sets. Rose will play Ardrey Kell for the state title at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
