Staff Report

The feature-length documentary “The Good Soldier” with local veteran Perry Parks in one of the lead roles will be aired on the Bill Moyer’s Journal program Friday on the Public Broadcasting System.

The film had a sneak preview showing at the Cole Auditorium in September which was attended by roughly 200 county residents.

On hand at the Hamlet showing were three of the five veterans featured in the film, as well as award-winning filmmakers Michael Uys and Lexi Lovell.

Uys and Lovell will appear on the Journal.

A shortened version of the film will be featured on the program, then there will be a question and answer session with the filmmakers.

This episode of Bill Moyer’s Journal airs on PBS at 11 p.m. on Nov. 6.
