Mr. Polson was born July 2, 1947, Chesterfield, SC, a son of Nealie Brown Polson McLain and the late Robert Wilson Polson. He was a graduate of Chesterfield High School and a retired employee of Highland Industries. Mr. Polson attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church. In addition to his father, Billy was preceded in death by a brother, Jerald W. Polson and by a sister, Peggy P. Wallace.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel, Chesterfield, S.C. Interment to follow in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Chesterfield, S.C.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home of Chesterfield, S.C.
Survivors include his mother, Nealie Brown Polson McLain of Chesterfield, S.C.; five daughters, Odessa Robinson of Hamlet, Marie Tucker of Campbellsville, KY and Hope Polson Jordan of Laurinburg and their mother, Elaine Jacobs Polson Huckabee of Hamlet; Jamie Polson of Rockingham and BJ Meader of Hartsville, S.C. and their mother, Wanda Roscoe Polson of Patrick, S.C.; a brother, Wilson B. Polson of Chesterfield, S.C.; two sisters, Bonnie Gibson and Kathy Polson of Chesterfield, S.C.; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
