Mr. John Wayne Shirley, 72, of Berlin, Germany died on Thursday, the 22nd of October, 2009. John was born in Camden, South Carolina. John lived in Frohnau, Berlin, Germany for the past 32 years.

John was a graduate of Hartsville High School in 1956. John was a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1963. John received his Masters Degree in Engineering at the New York University. He retired from the United States Air Force.

John Wayne was the son of the late David Kenneth Shirley and Lena Carter Shirley. John Wayne was predeceased by his son John Kenneth Shirley (age 11) in 1977, and his grandparents; George Wallace Shirley, Laura Marshall Shirley, Joseph Oakley Carter and Minta Jane Tart Carter, all of Camden, S.C..

Mr. John Wayne Shirley is survived by his wife, Inge Caecilie Warm Shirley of Berlin, Germany. daughter; Angela Diana Shirley of Berlin, Germany.

brothers; Donald Shirley of Rockingham, Delmar Shirley of Pensacola, Fl., Roger Shirley of Cowpens, S.C., sister; Diane Shirley Stokes of Laurinburg.

Mr. John Wayne Shirley will be laid to rest in Frohnau, Berlin, Germany.
