Take responsibility

Again the city government of Hamlet denies responsibility for actions taken during the last two years. The Daily Journal will not allow me to call the name of the individuals, but it does allow the city of Hamlet to conduct a political campaign under the thin disguise of town news reported by the city manager.

It seems that our elected officials are constantly denying responsibility for the actions that they have taken during the last two years. If no one is responsible for ending the Time Warner coverage of the town council meetings then why are they not being televised? Surely someone is responsible for this action. I know exactly who is responsible. I know who is responsible for disbanding the Tree Board. I know who is responsible for accepting an illegal petition to cut the trees down on Main Street and taking action on this petition. I know who is responsible for my outrageous water bill. I know who wrote the nasty letter to the employees of the town and made them sign it. I am sick and tired of people spending our tax money and then refusing to accept the responsibility for their actions.

I am tired of the Hamlet government making only token efforts to clean up this town and then using the publicity of these efforts to reelect incompetent people back into office. No one ever said it was going to be easy! The longer we wait, the more cleaning we have to do! We know whose tenure these events occurred and I for one have no intention of voting them back into office.

Judy, you just keep right on plugging and people like Lacy can take a flying hump of they don't like it. There are quite a few people running our town that really need checking out, if not schlepping out.

I am not looking into their close Lacy. If you think a politician's voting record is a closet issue than you have a lot to learn. I am question their accountability to the public! Any elected official or any Hamlet City Employee who does not feel that they are accountablee to the voters need to leave their job or office. We pay their salary and they should answer to us!

Maybe it's time for you two folks to run for public office and let them have a look at your closet. Second thing you can do is move..Either way you will be dissected like all politican are and then lets see how you come out. BTW you can't vote in both election either...Easy to complain, hard to do the job...regards

Yes and I am sick and tired of the Rockingham elected officials not doing a better job for our citizens too. It is time to elect all new people on November 3. We need some people who represent our citizens better. Let's all vote for change in Hamlet, and Rockingham.
