Pinecrest swept both the men’s and women’s meets. The Patriots won the men’s meet with 19 points, followed by Richmond with 47 points and Scotland was last with 68 points. On the women’s side, the Lady Patriots earned 15 points, while Scotland had 88 points and Richmond finished with 126 points.
Eli Locklear had the fastest time for the Richmond, finishing third in the meet in a time of 18:13. Tynikia Little ran the fastest time for the Lady Raiders, finishing 19th in a time of 26:15.
The Richmond cross country teams next meet is the SEC championship meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Pinecrest Elk Lodge.
Tennis season comes to a close
PINEHURST — The Richmond Senior tennis team season came to an end Tuesday in the Southeastern Conference tournament as the Lady Raiders dropped its two singles and two doubles matches at the Pinehurst Country Club.
Singles results: Chrissy Nurnberg of Pinecrest defeated Farhana Shemna, 6-0, 6-0. Rachel Dial of Purnell Swett defeated Courtney Pope, 6-3, 6-2. Doubles results: Munroe Buiel-Sara Harling of Scotland defeated Maggie McKenzie-Taylor Webb, 6-4, 6-0. Maggie Deese-Britney Strickland of Purnell Swett defeated Lauren Grant-Alyssa Reynolds, 6-4, 6-4.
