Raiders slip one spot in latest poll

The Richmond Raiders fell one spot in the latest Associated Press North Carolina high school football poll after its open date last week.

The Raiders, who face Southeastern Conference foe Hoke Friday night in Raeford, received 68 points to fall to sixth.

West Forsyth switched positions with the Raiders despite both teams being off last week. The Titans, who were sixth last week, garnered 70 points to inch past Richmond for fifth.

Charlotte Independence maintained the top spot, earning 11 of the 14 first place votes after the Patriots defeated Ardrey Kell 38-12 last Friday.

Butler, who received the three remaining first place votes, stayed in the second spot following its bye week.

Jack Britt and Jamestown Ragsdale remained No. 3 and No. 4. Jack Britt, like Richmond was off, while Ragsdale shutout East Forsyth 31-0 last week.
