The State Employee’s Credit Union Foundation supports Richmond Community College students by giving two “People Helping People” scholarships each year. Students selected have demonstrated leadership, excellence of character, integrity and community involvement. SECU local advisory board member Kathy Gainey and SECU Vice President Doug Fulford present Amber Diaz-Pellot of Maxton and Tammy Noah of Rockingham, certificates of achievement and their scholarships. RCC Vice President Johnnie Simpson is on hand to congratulate the students. Both recipients said having a scholarship allows them to focus more on course work than on how they are going to pay for their next semester of study. Diaz-Pellot is an accounting major. Noah is studying to become a nurse.
