Lady Raiders lose to Jack Britt

FAYETTEVILLE — The Richmond Senior volleyball team was defeated 3-1 to Jack Britt in a nonconference match Friday night. The loss dropped the Lady Raiders’ record to 11-4 overall.

Britt defeated Richmond 25-16 in the first game, but the Lady Raiders came back to win 25-20 in the second. However, the Lady Buccaneers rebounded to win 25-20 in the third game and won 25-14 in the fourth to finish off the match.

I’teionna McLaughlin led the Lady Raiders with 14 service points, while LaShey Brown had 11 kills and Natalie Brown added nine kills.

The Lady Raiders return to action Tuesday at Purnell Swett in a Southeastern Conference match following the JV game.

In the junior varsity contest, Brittany Hudson had nine service points and Hannah Bailey chipped in with six points to lead the Lady Raiders to a 25-14 and 25-18 victory over Britt. The win improves Richmond to 7-7 overall.

The JV Raiders return to action at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Swett.
