County Fair set for Oct 13-17

  The 52nd annual Richmond County Agricultural Fair will be Tuesday through Saturday, Oct. 13-17, at the Richmond County Fairgrounds in Hamlet.

The Hamlet Lions Club will again host this year's festivities.

J&J Amusements will be the featured carnival this year, bringing a variety of rides and entertainment. Food vendors and games will also be available.

Admission is $3 with net proceeds benefitting the visually impaired and local community projects.

The fair will again feature commercial exhibits, an animal barn, educational exhibits, youth livestock show, and horticultural exhibits. The Hamlet Lions will again run a food booth and bingo.

Two bicycles will be given away to youth attending the fair and entering the drawing.

The county fair is held in cooperation with the Richmond County Cooperative Extension Service, Richmond County 4-H clubs, Richmond County Extension Homemakers, Family and Consumer Teachers, Richmond County Master Gardeners, Richmond County Beekeepers, National Resource Conservation Service, Richmond Soil and Water District, Forestry Service, Farm Service Agency, and USDA Rural Development.
