“We hope to see people come out, have fun and bring their kids,” Philip Bradley, a superintendent of the fair said.
The county fair will be held at the fairgrounds in Hamlet on the corner of Hwy. 38 and US Hwy. 74.
The fair will have both adult and children’s rides provided by J and J Amusements, booths selling a variety of items, crafts, carnival games, full concessions plus animal exhibits, live music and an exhibit hall.
The exhibit hall, according to Rina Marshall, fair manager and Lion’s Club member, will display community crafts, foods, locally grown vegetables, plants and trees.
“We’re excited we’re able to have it again this year,” Marshall said. “And the participation the community has given us this year and in the past.”
There will also be a drawing for one of two vehicles, a Dodge or a Jeep. Tickets for the drawing will be sold at the fair. Additionally, students and children will be eligible in a drawing for one of two bicycles. Members of the Lions Club and volunteers from around the county will work the fair throughout the week.
“People are giving us the support we need,” Marshall said.
“We’re really excited about the kids coming out,” Bradley said. “And we’re glad to see some live entertainment coming back to the fair.”
The fair will run Oct. 13-17 beginning at 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and ending around 10 p.m. That Saturday, the fair will open at 12 p.m.
Tickets are $3 for 6 and up and children 5 and under get in free.
