HOLLY MOUNT BAPTIST CHURCH will host a benefit blue grass and gospel music festival at the Thickety Creek Ball Field, 1947 Thickety Creek Road, Mt. Gilead on Saturday beginning at noon. The benefit is being held for Bradley Reid Thompson, a member of Holly Mount Baptist Church. Thompson is currently on the heart transplant list at Duke Hospital. A plate sale will start at noon the day of, hot dog plates will be $4, hamburger plates are $5 and barbecue plates are $6. Plates include chips, dessert and canned drink. A silent auction will also be held throughout the day. Music starts at 2 p.m. and admission is by donation only.
