Joseph Haywood Dumas, 52, of 905 Paliside Circle, Rockingham, died on Sept. 11 at Sandhills Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Norman. Lena Craven and Carl Lee McDonald will be officiating.

Dumas was born Mar. 4, 1957 in Ellerbe to Haywood McRae and Maybell Dumas LeGrand. He was a cook.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Dumas; his parents, Haywood McRae of High Point and Maybell LeGrand of the home; his sons, Earl Dumas, Conieus Dumas, Bruce Dumas, Lindsay Dumas, all of High Point; his brothers, Charles Dumas of Ellerbe, Vincent LeGrand of Rockingham, Phillip McRae of Pennsylvania and Marice McRae of Seattle; sisters Lisa Dumas of Durham, Lavern Medley of Greensboro, Vicky McRae of High Point, Shanna Cuthbertson of Greensboro, Deveda McRae of High Point; and nine grandchildren.

A public viewing will be held Sept. 15 from 1:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at McLendon Funeral Home.

To the Family my prayers r with u in ur time of sorrow.We know for sure the word of God is true all by itself and it will stand forever. Hold your head high get connected stay connected to the creator and he will see u thru. I love u all be encouraged in the Lord!!!
