Wilks was born in Anson County to the late Sebron and Johnsie Brooks-Freeman. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lord’s Church in Greensboro.
She is survived by her children, Gary Freeman of Charlotte; George Wilks, Jr., Harold Wilks and David Wilks, all of Raleigh; Bo Wilks of Greensboro; James Lowery of Rockingham; Barbara Beach of Gaston, S.C.; Diane Carpenter of Greensboro and Debra Wilson of Swansea, S.C.; 29 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Bobby Lammonds Memorial Chapel of Russell-Marks Funeral Home with burial in Richmond Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
