INDIAN TRAIL — Setter Allyson Wood had 13 service points to lead the Richmond Senior volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-19, 25-16 victory over Porter Ridge in a non-conference match Wednesday afternoon.

Rebecca Kinsey recorded a

team-high nine kills and

three blocks in the win. Natalie Brown and LaShey Brown each had five kills for the Lady Raiders (4-2).

Richmond returns to action at 5 p.m. against Southeastern Conference foe Hoke in Raeford.

Locklear runs best time at XC meet

RAEFORD — The Richmond Senior men’s cross country team finished second and the women’s team placed third in the Raiders’ first meet of the season.

The Raiders’ Eli Locklear finished with the fastest time of the men’s meet at 17:52. Pinecrest finished first, followed by Richmond and Hoke. Pinecrest also took first place in the women’s meet with Hoke second and Richmond coming in third.

The Raiders will run again at 5 p.m. Tuesday against Hoke and Lumberton at Hinson Lake.

RSHS-Butler game to air on TWC

The Richmond Senior-Butler game will be taped by Time Warner Cable.

It will air at 8 p.m. on Saturday on the following channels: Rockingham area: channel 15; Charlotte/Monroe/Gastonia/Shelby areas: channel 9; and the Lake Norman area: channel 19.
