Wingate to present free concerts

WINGATE — The music department at Wingate University will present two free concerts open to the public. The concerts will be performed in Hannah Covington McGee Theatre in the George A. Batte, Jr. Fine Arts Center on campus.

Wingate University’s Wind Ensemble will perform “An Evening of Old, Golden Standards” - standard pieces from the concert band repertoire written between 1940 and 1970. The band concert, conducted by Dr. Dawn Perry, will be presented on Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.

A University Choral Concert entitled “A Song for All Seasons” will be performed on Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Kenney Potter will be conducting the Choral Concert.
