Van Jones has resigned his position as “Green Czar” and presidential advisor. I’d like to know how an admitted Communist and, no telling what else, was hired to be advisor to the president of the United States.
He was not elected or reviewed by Congress. Could it be if you are a far left liberal you don’t see anything wrong with a Communist advisor?
How about the other 30 or so “Czars?” What are their backgrounds? Someone needs to do some checking and/or investigating their backgrounds. We Americans are on the threshold to start losing our rights and liberties one by one. That’s what happens when government takes over everything.
Obama also talks about what he wants. Don’t let the Constitution begin with “We the people” instead of “me the president.” Some nutcase said that August was the month of lies. Every month we have with this administration will be the month of lies.

patriot, my daughter in law is a school teacher. She was told that she was not going to have a job this year because of budget cuts. Then the state allocated some of the stimulus money to the school district where she worked and they called her back to teach. Funny how that works, isn't it? I didn't need any of the stimulus package to help me. But my grandchildren did because now their mom's job provides them with health care and additional income.
Know what, there are teachers, policemen, firefighters, and construction workers all over the state of North Carolina who have a job because of that stimulus package. In an economy that was bankrupted by 8 years of George W. Bush and Trickle Down Voodoo Economics. Don't pay for anything, just borrow from the Chinese, and spend, spend, spend. A War Time President? More like a complete idiot.

They didn't want to fight for this nation because they were making a profit off he King and they liked it just the way it was. So now we have the Health Insurance Companies who hate the fact that someone migh cause them to lower their rates and insure more people.
After all, it was the King who provided the capital that built this nation. Shouldn't he have the right to decide what the people who worked for him were going to get paid or what they were going to be allowed to do. So naturally he helped out his East India Tea Company. After all, you must take care of the Corporations since they provided the jobs.

JBee..... this is what I've read about the Sons of the Confederacy, which apparently was a good group at one point.... but it seems they have been hijacked by extremist like the Republican party.
Who are the SCV? A once-proud organization of Confederate history buffs and Civil War re-enactors that traditionally spent its money to restore battlefields and Confederate cemeteries. By 2006, however, the SCV had been substantially taken over by an organized cadre of white supremacists who sought to turn the nation’s oldest Southern historical society into what the veteran white supremacy activist Kirk Lyons called “a modern, 21st century Christian war machine capable of uniting the Confederate community and leading it to ultimate victory,” had seized much of the SCV’s leadership positions, the Southern Poverty Law Center released an extensive list of SCV officials who belonged to “hate groups.”
Lyons, a key member of this new leadership, had harbored dreams of creating a seemingly benign front group for a more sophisticated version of the Ku Klux Klan. “I have great respect for the Klan historically, but, sadly the Klan today is ineffective and sometimes even destructive,” Lyons told a German neo-Nazi magazine in 1992. “It would be good if the Klan followed the advice of former Klansman Robert Miles: 'Become invisible. Hang the robes and hoods in the cupboard and become an underground organization.'” With the SCV, Lyons discovered he didn’t have to go underground after all.
So, do you see why I have questions about this group, as it stands now? I realize one leader doesn’t represent an entire group of people. Bush was a good lesson on the leader not representing the people, but there comes a time when the majority speaks out against the extremist who hijack their organization.
The truth is that while racism remains alive and well ( and always will), no one race has a monopoly on racism. And the history of the Democratic party is one of racism - that's why they gloss over this period in their party histories. Very revealing that they cannot speak honestly about the racism in their party's past...
I for one can’t question someone’s sanity. I do not think anyone who has ever posted anything in here can question anyone’s sanity. A lot of what many question about someone’s sanity is just their belief. Going by the beliefs professed in here no one can question anything.
As far as racism is concerned, do not confuse racism with ignorance and fear. Politicians have used all three to attain their goals. True, there are those who hate Mr. Obama for his skin pigmentation. That is both racist and ignorance.
There are those who disagree with Mr. Obama because they do not like his politics. That is belief.
Politicians like to put us in nice neat boxes. Just check a box and they have you. Race, sex, creed, religion, political affiliation, you name it. It is just division points to use during election season. We go along with their games because it is for our own good.
When you say, racist, sexist, homophobe, nazi, fascist or anything to put someone in a box, be sure that is the box you want them in and be sure you do not end up in the same box.
Racism, as it is being used today will never go away because there is too much money in it. The politicians use it to get elected and an industry is built around classes and seminars to “eliminating” it.
A spade is a spade, a club is a club and a man is a man. You can dislike, disagree or even hate someone for many things but that does not make it racist. True racism, hatred of someone simply because of skin color, gets glossed over by the overuse of political racism.
As for my comments about racism, well let me explain where it's coming from. First, check the connection between Joe Wilson and Sons of the Confederacy. Second, check out exactly what Joe Wilson said about Strom Thurmond's illegitimate daughter (this is after he claimed her). And finally, listen to all the racist junk the slowly dying party of NO is spewing.
You see, I use to get so upset with people pulling the "race card" over just anything, but over this year I've seen TRUE RACISM! Half of the people will admit it openly, for example, those crazy SC people. Others try to put a different name on their hate. Glenn Beck, adored by right wing nuts around the US, called the president a racist who hated white people, and look at the nuts who came out the support him on this. It's RACISM, plain and simple! You can question my sanity if you want to, but maybe you should question the sanity of Glenn Beck and Joe Wilson before you follow them!
I'll end the yapping about racism with a little 08' campaign story. I was around town volunteering for the Obama campaign, going door to door. We went inside to visit one of the nicest little old ladies I've ever met. We were having some tea on her front porch and we were discussing how she'd been a Democrat all her life. And then she said to me, "I've never voted for a Republican in my life, but I won't vote for that N WORD" only she wasn't so kind about the wording.
After this, she asked me where I go to church and said she'd love to have me come to her church. I would have been shocked, had I not been so accustomed to this exact behavior my entire life. I know the woman grew up in a time where that kind of language and behavior was considered okay, but it's this sort of ignorance which leads to the insane racism we see today.
What it really boils down to is this, certain people can't handle an interracial president, it makes them flip out! We see it more each and every day! It's sad.... but true!
Bonnie, unfortunately, Rassmussen is a Right Wing survey group. Their results may be a little slanted since they are funded by conservative think tanks. I don't put a lot of stock in their results. I like NBC and MSNBC a lot better, followed by CBS.
Bush will go down as probably the worst President this nation ever endured. He should, he earned it.
Oh, did you happen to see the interview that Rachel Maddow did with Tom Ridge. Funny how that elevation of the terror alert raised President Bush'es ranking in the polls. The Presidents approval rating remains at 52% and received a jump after his speech to Congress. 74% of the American people want Health Care Reform. Congressman Wilson went on You Tube and shilled for campaign contributions after his ignorant outburst. He has received approx $700,000.00

Bush left office with a 25% approval rating. Look at the mess he left. We spent enough money on the Iraq war, outside of the federal budget, that would have provided health care for every American for 10 years. Where is your outrage.
We spend over $650 BILLION a year on defense. More than the rest of the free world combined. Just think, two years of the defense budget would pay for every Americans health care for over 10 years.
