A man walking alone on Corning Street in Hamlet was robbed at gunpoint by four unidentified men around 11 p.m. on Sept. 2.

The man told police that he was walking alone when he passed three men who did not speak to him, but after he passed them, a fourth man jumped from the bushes and pointed a gun at him demanding money.

Without incident, he held his hands in the air and one of the three men who had passed him earlier, walked up behind him and took his wallet from his back pocket.

He took $370 in cash from his wallet and dropped the empty wallet on the ground.

All four men left the scene. The victim was unable to identify any of them since it was too dark to see their faces, according to reports.
