MARSHVILLE — Davis Hilton broke up a scoreless tie with a goal from an assist by Brian Smith with 16 minutes remaining in the game to help lift Richmond to a 2-0 victory over Forest Hills in a non-conference soccer match Tuesday evening.

Brandon Benoist added the other goal for the Raiders (5-2).

“We played much better in the second half,” Richmond coach Bennie Howard said. “I think both teams were sluggish coming off the Labor Day holiday.”

Evan Frye notched the shutout for Richmond, his second of the season.

The Raiders return to action today when they host Hoke at 7 p.m. The junior varsity game begins at 5:30 p.m.
