SANFORD — The Richmond junior varsity football team continued its winning ways.

Steven Houston scored two touchdowns to help the JV Raiders improve to 2-0 on the season with a 30-6 victory over Lee County Thursday night.

Houston set the tone with a 11-yard touchdown run and Todd Inman’s extra point gave Richmond a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Later in the quarter, Inman connected on a 28-yard field goal, giving the JV Raiders a 10-0 advantage.

Donovan Jones scored a second-quarter touchdown, but the point after failed as Richmond led 16-0 at halftime.

In the third, Houston added his second score of the contest and the extra point increased the lead to 23-0.

The defense contributed to Richmond’s last score. Linebacker Kevin Rorie returned a 17-yard interception for a touchdown in the fourth. Jonathan Thames kicked the point after, giving Richmond a 30-0 lead. Lee County scored a late touchdown to spoil the shutout.

The JV Raiders return to action next Thursday against Anson at 7 p.m. at Raider Stadium.
